Summer Calendar and Events!

The Talent Night is a perfect time for you to come out to the Shakedown to check things out. We will have a variety of performances and a lot of laughs, so plan to join us Thursday, June 18 at 6:30pm!

Thursday, June 25 will be a fun night with a few surprises. The youth are pumped for summer break and we want to make it a great evening for them! We are meeting at Odell Park – please drop your teens of at Odell for 6:30pm.

Thursday, July 2 will be double-fun for the youth. We have Carmen Creek booked for beach Volleyball and Mini-golf at 5pm and we will head back to the church for the Shakedown at 7pm. This will be a low-cost event ($5) and more details about drives will be available soon!

The annual Slip ‘n Slide will be Thursday, July 16. The youth should be prepared to be soaked to the bone, so remember to bring towels and a change of clothes!

We’re heading to Magic Mountain in Moncton Wednesday, July 29. We will meet at 8am in the Crosspoint parking lot. The cost is $30 and we will return to Crosspoint at 7pm. Bring SPF 40!

District youth camp at Caton’s will be August 9-14. Check there website for details. I’ll be there all week with the teens, so we will not have a regular Shakedown night that Thursday night.

The annual Fundy camping trip will be Sunday, August 23 to Tuesday, August 25. We will leave Sunday afternoon and return Tuesday by noon. More details registration and cost will be available soon!

Atlantic Concert

The Atlantic Concert is this Friday night @ Atlantic Community Church in Apohaqui, NB. 

We’re meeting at the church at 4pm — we’ll aim to be back shortly before midnight. 

Total cost is only $10! 

We will make a food stop on the way back if the teens are interested. 

If you want to drive some teens, you’re more than welcome to come!

Rally in the Valley

The 2nd annual Rally in the Valley is happening on May 1-2, and your teens need to go! 

Featuring great speaking by Matt Leroy and awesome worship by Brent Ingersoll, the Rally will also have some awesome games, hilarious movies, fun hotels, a talent show and more.

Total cost is $75 – includes registration, hotel and travel. 

This event is for grades 6-12. 

You can print off your own individual registration form on their site, or pick one up at the Guest Center. 

Deadline for registrations: April 9th —  but the sooner we know, the better!

Ski Trip is a Go

After much deliberation…we’re going to go ahead with the ski trip. I talked with numerous government/weather road experts, and they seemed to agree that the TransCanada would be melted and clear and good to go.

No Shakedown

The nasty weather has begun, and it’s supposed to keep going all day. So — The Shakedown is cancelled for tonight. Stay home, stay safe, and have a great night!

Tonight

According to the latest youth calendar, there is a Night of  Prayer and Worship scheduled for tonight (Feb.6).

However, Pastor John and I have decided to postpone the event for a few weeks to give us some more time into preparing for the event, and also to give us some more time to promote it so we’ve got a great group of teens able to attend.

Ski Trip Info

Here’s the scoop for the upcoming ski trip. Please let me know by February 12th if your teens are planning to attend.

When: We’re going to meet at the church @ 3pm on Friday, Feb. 20th and we’re planning to be back at around 9pm on Saturday, Feb. 21st.

Where: We’re staying at the Quality Inn in Edmundston, NB (506-735-5525) and we’re skiing at Mt. Farlagne (506-739-7669)

How Much: $140 is due by Friday, Feb.20. (Cheques can be made out to Crosspoint Youth) 

Who: Adult chaperones will be driving the teens and staying with them in the hotel; girls and guys will be separated in the hotel rooms. 

Don’t forget: Lots of warm clothes, a swim suit (hotel pool), extra money (if you want), etc. 

Kids will be required to have a signed permission slip in order to attend this trip. (The permission slip is located here)
