Encounter Update

Parents, here’s the details for Encounter: 

1. Meet at the church for 3:45pm — this will give us plenty of time to get organized, pray, travel, register, check-in, etc before the rally begins. I’m sure your kids will be disappointed to have to miss a little bit of school.

2. If your kids haven’t paid yet, be sure to have the money on hand (cash or cheque is fine; make cheques out to ‘Crosspoint youth’) 

3. If they want to bring extra money for food, we’ll probably have the opportunity to stop for some greasy delicious treats during the weekend. 

4. We’re planning to arrive back at the church by 9pm on Saturday evening.

Youthiversity

This Saturday is our first class of ‘Youthiversity’ — we’ll be meeting at 9am at the church where we’ll have some breakfast (bring $5 to help out with the cost) and then jump right in to learning about the basics of our faith. 

It’s gonna be awesome, so be sure to encourage your teens to attend. We’ll be done at 11am.

Encounter Rally

Encounter is just around the corner! 

What is it? 

Encounter is an annual youth rally that happens at Bethany Bible College. 

Who is it for? 

It’s for Sr High students only. (grades 9-12) 

When is it? 

November 7-8

How much does it cost? 

$65 (includes lodging – hotel, all meals, transportation, rally fee; bring extra money for snacks) 

What do we do? 

Attend rallies with great music, drama, speaking, etc. along with fun activities that vary with each year. Past events included hockey + basketball games, campus tours, a hilarious Friday Night Live, Price is Right, etc) 

Is this just a big BBC promo? 

Yes. Yes it is. But it’s a great time! And our teens love it. 

What does Mark need? 

He needs a filled out registration form along with the $65 ASAP! (Oct.16 at the latest) Pick one up at the church today!

Sunday Night Update!

According to the youth calendar, this Sunday night we’re attending Sunday Night Live. 

Important Note: This is not happening. 

We’re having an all-church ‘coffee chat with Tim’ that night, and we’re encouraging our families and our youth leaders and everyone else to attend that instead. 

SO, to make up for a cancelled event, we’re rescheduling something else! On Sunday, October 19th, we’ll be going to Sunset Church for an awesome youth service featuring the worship band Atlantic!! Woo-hoo! The concert starts at 6pm. Stay tuned for further details. 

In the meantime, don’t go to Sunday Night Live.    Thanks!
