Shakedown 2010

This Thursday is Christmas Eve, and next Thursday is New Year’s Eve – enjoy two weeks off! We’ll start again Thursday, January 7, 2010.

Christmas at The Playhouse!

Christmas is almost here, and that means Crosspoint’s Christmas at The Playhouse is only days away! We have two service times on December 23: 6pm and 8pm. This will be an amazing night! The teens will be involved in both services!

This Thursday our youth night begins at 6:30pm. We are going caroling and returning to the church at 8pm for cookies and hot chocolate! Mmm! We will be practicing for our Playhouse performance until 8:30pm. Teens: You will not want to miss this!

This Friday! Youth Formal!

Everyone is welcome to join us for the program Friday night! If you are a parent or friend of someone in the youth group come out at 6:30pm this Friday for a Christmas program in the Sanctuary. Several of the youth will share a talent. There will be music and other fun things going on during the program.

There will be a special meal just for the teens following program. It costs $2 and teens are encouraged to bring a gift for Yankee Swap costing no more than $5.

Christmas Formal

Everyone is welcome to join us for the program at 6:30pm. The teens will have their own meal time following the program, which costs $2.

Encounter @ BBC Nov. 6-7

The time has come again for High School students to check out BBC for a weekend. It’s always a great rally with amazing music, speakers, and surprises! AJ Thomas is speaking this year, so the teens and leaders are in for an awesome weekend! Check the Encounter schedule here. We’re staying in Sussex at the Fairway Inn. Meals are provided for breakfast, lunch, and supper on Saturday. Teens should be prepared to purchase their own supper on Friday.

$60 is due before we leave on Friday, November 6 at 4pm. We will return to Crosspoint by 10pm Saturday, November 7.

Shakedown Reminder

We’ve been having a great time this fall at the Shakedown each Thursday! There has been a lot of variety and we’ve had several awesome guests for music and speaking. Our aim is to run the youth night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, with only a rare exception to run over. With the colder weather students may arrive at 6pm, but please make sure your students have a ride home by 8:45pm. Thanks!

Fundy Trip!

Our annual youth camping trip is only a week away! We are leaving Sunday, August 23 @ 2pm and returning Tuesday, August 25 mid-afternoon. We maintained the same cost as last year ($60). The money and registration is due Thursday, August 20. No refunds, due to food purchases, camp site, and vehicle rentals. Teens should have an extra $5 for optional boating on Tuesday, and a few bucks for snacks. This is going to be an amazing trip! Contact Pastor John for more information.

Ski Trip is a Go

After much deliberation…we’re going to go ahead with the ski trip. I talked with numerous government/weather road experts, and they seemed to agree that the TransCanada would be melted and clear and good to go.

Last call for the return of the Valuestar Coupon books we’ve been selling! We need to get those back ASAP, along with any money that was raised by selling them.

Tonight

According to the latest youth calendar, there is a Night of  Prayer and Worship scheduled for tonight (Feb.6).

However, Pastor John and I have decided to postpone the event for a few weeks to give us some more time into preparing for the event, and also to give us some more time to promote it so we’ve got a great group of teens able to attend.
